Prepare for the FIGUR8
bioMotion Assessment

A bioMotion Assessment captures detailed biomarkers of a specified part of your body to help your clinician learn more about your condition.

Information about a specified part of your body that can help your clinician learn more about your condition is referred to as a “biomarker”. The bioMotion Assessment captures detailed biomarkers about your muscles and joints while you move.

For the care team to obtain this muscle and joint data, a small series of sensors will be placed in various locations on your body. You will be asked to perform different physical assessments while wearing the sensors.

Before your visit

There’s no special preparation required before your FIGUR8 assessment. However, wearing comfortable clothing that allows for free movement (such as athletic wear) is recommended. Shorts and a short sleeve top are preferred. This allows you to be assessed more easily. Come early if you need to change before your appointment. Please do not wear jeans or leggings on the day of your appointment. It is important to keep your skin clean the day of your appointment. Lotion or cream can cause moisture on the skin. This may result in inaccurate readings from FIGUR8 assessment.

Your care team will provide any additional instructions if necessary.

Arrival time

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in. If you’re running late or need to reschedule, contact your provider’s office directly to adjust your appointment.

Length of appointment

The FIGUR8 bioMotion Assessment typically takes 10–15 minutes. This includes time for sensor placement, guided functional testing, and data collection. The assessment will be completed during your scheduled appointment.

During the assessment

Your FIGUR8 assessment is a non-invasive and painless process. During the visit:

  • Sensors will be placed on specific areas of your body to measure joint motion and muscle function.
  • You’ll be guided through a series of movements and tasks relevant to your condition or recovery goals.
  • The FIGUR8 system will record data in real time to create an objective analysis of your musculoskeletal health.

Feel free to ask questions at any point during the assessment to better understand the process.

After the assessment

Once the assessment is complete, the data will be processed and made available to your clinician. The results include a detailed report with visual summaries of your movement patterns, functional scores, and recovery progress.

Your clinician will use this information to:

  • Adjust your treatment plan if necessary.
  • Provide you with a clear understanding of your progress.
  • Discuss next steps in your recovery journey.

If you have any questions after your appointment, reach out to your care team for further explanation or follow-up.

Understanding your results

The FIGUR8 bioMotion Assessment provides objective insights into your recovery by tracking your specific movement biomarker measurements over time and comparing them to values when you started treatment and to established healthy recovery biomarker values. Your provider will explain the results during your next visit or through follow-up communication.

The FIGUR8 assessment ensures that your treatment plan is data-driven, personalized, and designed to help you achieve your recovery goals as efficiently as possible.
